Having been in the land and new homes side of estate agency for 35 years, working with major development companies as a Sales and Marketing Manager and a Director, I decided to move to Wells and got a job working at Sowerbys about 18 months ago, doing both negotiating and working in our Developments office.

Based in Wells, I am the Developments Manager in charge of land and new homes. I have been in land and new homes for 25 years having been the Sales Manager of Crest Nicholson and also working with many high profile developments around London. After starting at Sowerbys over 2 ½ years ago, we now have a large database of developers.

Les Walsh, who heads up the team, has worked in this business for years. He was in charge of Crest Nicholson Estates in London and was at Savills in Norwich. He works closely with developers who come to Sowerbys for an appraisal. He values not only the land but also assesses the sales value when the land is developed. Developers will talk to more than one estate agent but 95% of his clients come back.
