Often the general perception is that the Summer Holidays isn’t the best time of year to put your property on the market, as people are away on holiday or busy trying to keep the children entertained!, therefore looking at marketing your home, let alone looking for a new one is low down on the list of priorities.
However, there are many advantages to listing your house in the summer months -
1.Sunny weather and blue skies - everything looks better when the sun is shining and if you want to show off your property to its full potential then the summer months are a great time to do it. Gardens are flourishing and awash with colour so when it comes to marketing your property we can take great photos.
2.With the Euro increasingly stronger vs the Pound a lot of families are now choosing to stay at home and are holidaying in the UK so are more readily available to view a property they like the look of. St Sowerbys, our viewing numbers over the summer months are always higher. This may not always lead to a sale as often buyers come back in September when children are back at school to make an offer on their dream home. September is often our best sales month of the year!
3.We as are nation are busy people, who are increasingly working longer hours and commuting longer distances to get work, so the vast majority of viewings are normally restricted to weekends and evenings and having the time to look at moving house is almost a luxury we don’t have. However, during the summer months, as people are off work they are able to view properties during the day and this means they are viewing when the property looks at its best. They are also less stressed and generally have a more positive outlook with more time to look for their next home.
There is no wrong time to sell your property, every season has its benefits, but these are just a few reasons why we think the summer is a really great time to look at selling your home.
