As we are still in lockdown, we thought we would put together some suggestions of things to keep you and the children occupied during this February half-term.There are many events taking place online this year, as well as lots of workshops and activities to take part in – most of which are free!
Roarr! Dinosaur Adventure’s February Fantasy Half-term Extravaganza

Throughout the week of half-term, Dippy the dinosaur and members of the Dinomite Gang will be broadcasting every day on their social media pages with prizes up for grabs!
Each day will have a different theme; animal day, adventure day, reading day, active day and craft park so there is plenty to get involved with.
They have also produced a range of activities to do at home, such as colouring, puzzles and quizzes which you can download from their website.

Little Grimm Tales

From 13th – 21st February, Box Tale Soup’s latest theatre production ‘Little Grimm Tales’ is going online so that you can watch from your own home!
The pre-recorded show is part of Norwich Puppet Theatre’s online programme, featuring magical tales from The Brothers Grimm, such as Hansel and Gretel and The Princess and the Frog. The performance will include beautiful puppets, innovative theatre and original music.

Rock Choir, Rock Stars Workshops

This half-term, young singers aged between 6-16 will be able to take part in virtual singing workshops with Rock Choir, Rock Stars!
The workshops will help improve the children’s technique and they will be learning the song True Colours. At the end of the workshops, the children will record their vocals, collaborating on a final song and video featuring children from all over the UK.
The workshops include three teacher-led 50-minute Zoom sessions, all learning resources and the video and audio recording afterwards.

Half-term activities by National Trust
The National Trust have put together a list of different activities, both outdoors and indoors for the family to enjoy during their break.
There’s an abundance of things to get involved with, such as ‘sounds of nature’ bingo, create a mini nature reserve and family-friendly bakes to try at home.
And what’s even better with this one is that there’s no cost!

Norfolk Museums Scribe School
This half-term, Norfolk Museums have put together an online ‘Scribe School’ workshop for children to enjoy.
The workshops are for ages 7+ and will allow you to meet medieval characters, create stories, comics and illustrations inspired by medieval history!
There are three workshops in total, each taking place between 2-3pm:
16th Feb – Capture the Castle
17th Feb – Ye Olde Comic Strips
18th Feb – Scribe and Scribble

Free activities with Norfolk Music Hub

Norfolk Music Hub are offering a variety of free workshops for children to take part in this half-term!
The first is Signing and Singing on Monday, Lockdown Get Down on Tuesday, Air Djembe on Wednesday and Virtual Beatboxing on Thursday.

Norfolk Wildlife Trust will be holding a Wildlife Watch Family zoom session on Saturday 13th February between 10:30am – 11:30am.

Sainsburys Centre Online Art Studios
The Sainsburys Centre are holding online art studios for 0-5 year olds and 5-11 year olds called get moving, get making and get messy!
The online studios will allow you to discover creative activities for all ages, designed by the Associate Artists for us primarily at home but with some you can try out in your garden or as part of a walk.

Wroxham Barns Junior Farm

Throughout half-term, Wroxham Barns will be live on their social media to give you the chance to watch staff feed the animals, meet new arrivals and stay in touch with the farm!
