Don't Miss Out On Brisley Live!

Published: 12/08/2022

With Brisley Live! around the corner, we caught up with Amelia from The Brisley Bell to hear all about it.

Please could you tell us about the event?

Sponsored by both Arts Council England & Norfolk County Council The Brisley Bell is staging Brisley Live! from the 9th to the 11th of September. We’ve got some fabulously talented local and national artists providing a fantastic professional line-up of Comedy, Music & Theatre over a whole weekend, including Adam Buxton. With three years in the planning, (thank you COVID-19), we’re over the moon that this is finally happening, bringing some exciting performances for a wild weekend in our sleepy village.  We hope you join us in our meadow.

How did Brisley Live! come about?

I worked for 13 years Producing & Directing in the professional theatre, prior to which I ran large scale events.  We’re in the hospitality profession, we love bringing people together and laying on entertainment- and we’ve got the experience, the means, and the venue to be able to do this.

What will it bring to the local community and what can they expect?

Professional performing arts, which currently, in Breckland, there are none. The whole weekend is set in a circle of tents and street food vans in our meadow, with a firepit in the centre for when the sun goes down.  So come rain or shine, we’re prepared!

What are you most looking forward to about the weekend?

The buzz of locals relaxing and enjoying themselves, introducing new people to the pub who’ve not visited before, and the shows – we’ve not staged anything like this before at the pub, it’s super exciting to be welcoming such talent.

What do people need to know about Brisley Live!?

There is plenty more to keep you entertained; on the Saturday there is a poster & jewellery sale, a community project & exhibition called Local Voices, face
painting & workshops with School of Noise. And each day we have outside caterers providing a variety of delicious food and a large bar.

To purchase tickets either pop into the pub, give us a call 01362 705024, or send us an email with your phone number and we’ll give you a call (welcome@thebrisleybell.co.uk). We’ll then pop the tickets in the post for you.
