Burnham Market & Blakeney voted amongst most beautiful villages

Published: 18/06/2021

We are incredibly lucky here in Norfolk to have so many lovely villages across the county, but it has come as no surprise to us that both Burnham Market and Blakeney have been named two of the most beautiful villages in England by The Telegraph.

North Norfolk has always been a sought after area for a UK getaway, renowned for its beautiful coastline and peaceful countryside, and now so more than ever as most of us are going to be enjoying a summer staycation this year.

The Telegraph praised Burnham Market for its variety of clothing and craft shops, as well as recommending the popular Gurneys fish mongers for fresh and local fish.

Spencer Cushing, manager of our Burnham Market office says “I would challenge anyone to drive through the village of Burnham Market and not be struck by its quintessential Englishness.

With its eclectic mix of Georgian and Victorian buildings surrounding the village green and the Goosebeck stream running though the centre, as well as its wonderful variety of independent shops, such as the butchers, bakers and fish monger, it’s impossible not to fall in love with it.”

Here are just two properties we have available in Burnham Market, both located in the heart of the village.

Following this, The Telegraph named the Quayside as a prime spot for crabbing in Blakeney and listed Blakeney Point as a highlight within the village.

Paul Newell, local director of our Holt office says "Blakeney, is a big favourite here in north Norfolk due to its beautiful natural setting. It lies in an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ and is recognised as a special heritage coast site in England. Here you can disappear into a rugged and wild coastline with coastal paths and saltwater creaks flowing through natural marshes and all set under endless big skies.

It also has a variety of established restaurants, village pubs, traditional delicatessen, village shop and art galleries. Blakeney’s most famous residents have to be the seals at Blakeney Point of course and a boat trip out to the Point should be firmly on everyone’s ‘Bucket List’!”

We currently have two plots available at Fiddlers Rest, an exclusive coastal development of two prestigious properties, set just off the Coast Road at Blakeney.

We also have an exciting new development coming soon to the heart of the village of Blakeney! The eagerly anticipated Kimberley by Fleur Homes is a collection of seven homes built using a traditional coastal palette.
