Norfolk named nation's favourite coastline

Check out the seaside properties on the market with Sowerbys.

Norfolk has been named as the nation’s favourite coastline by  Rightmove.

Three seaside villages from the country have ranked in the property website’s 'Top Six UK Seaside Villages.'

If you’re looking for a coastal escape Sowerbys’ has a selection of homes on offer.

Here’s a few of our favourite seaside properties on the market:

Heacham

A quaint village nestled close enough to Hunstanton for beach frolicking and historic market town of King's Lynn for perusing stores and catching a direct train to London.

This attractive Grade II Listed cottage, built in traditional Norfolk carrstone and formerly the village Post Office until the First World War.

Ideally situated only a short walk from the village centre and the beach, the property is characterful, showcasing some wonderful period features.

Rightmove quotes Heacham saw house prices increase by 20% in June 2021.

Additionally this attractive traditional cottage, perfectly situated in the coastal village, is only a short walk from the beach and the village centre.

This three bedroom cottage offers deceptively spacious accommodation.

Hemsby

Rightmove found the annual price growth in Hemsby to be 22%.

The village of Hemsby, just north of Great Yarmouth, tops national list for seaside hotspots.

With miles of sandy coastline and dunes Hemsby is easy to fall in love with. Enjoy long walks watching the sunrise and grab iconic British fish and chips in the evening.

Caister-on-Sea

Meanwhile, also on the list is nearby Caister-on-Sea which Rightmove found to have a 12% annual price growth.

The property website writes: "While asking prices in Caister-On-Sea rose by 12% in a year, this coastal village also saw one of the biggest rises in demand for villages, with buyer demand up 46% in June 2021 compared to June 2020."

Close to both villages you'll find The Green.

The house is a charming Grade II Listed late 18th Century attached property with elegant red brick. It was cleverly divided in the 1970s and the adjacent house is attached at the rear, ensuring Martinstaithe has high levels of privacy.

And finally, in nearby West Somerton this extremely well presented four bedroom property has been sympathetically extended to create a well-proportioned home.

The perfect location to enjoy both Caister-on-Sea and Hemsby.
