Nine walks across Norfolk

Published: 08/01/2021

Despite the current restrictions due to lockdown, one thing we can do is get our daily exercise, which for most of us is going for a walk!

It’s important to bear in mind the guidelines which state that we shouldn’t be travelling too far out of our way in order to get our daily exercise. So, we have chosen walks within the patches of our nine offices across the county and hopefully there is one for everyone!

Take in the beautiful sights of the north Norfolk coast and its wildlife, along with Churches, a Norman tower and iconic Tower Mill.

Distance: 4 miles
Time: 2 hours

Enjoy a quick stroll around the lovely Neatherd Moor, whilst appreciating the countryside and wildlife along the way. This is also a great one for children!

Time: 30 minutes

Have a lovely, relaxed walk around one of the country’s most accessible reserves recognised for its wildlife and unusual mosaic of woodland, fen and reedbed habitats.

Another great option if you love spotting wildlife whilst you’re walking! Holt Country Park is set in 100 acres of woodland and quite often you can see an abundance of wildlife, including goldcrests, woodpeckers, deer and more.

The beautiful grounds at Sandringham extend to nearly 243 hectares for visitors to enjoy. There are two waymarked nature trails of different lengths as well as other woodland paths to explore.

Distance: 1.5 miles or 2.5 miles

This walking trial through King’s Lynn allows you to take a slow stroll around the historic areas of the town, including the Quay, St. George’s Guildhall and The Walks.

Just a few miles from Norwich City Centre, this walk is very popular for just taking a stroll, going for a run, or taking the dog for a walk whilst enjoying the trees, meadows and the beautiful lake at the centre.

Distance: 1.5 miles

This walk is a lightly trafficked loop trail which offers the chance to see wildlife along the way. The woods are often used for hiking, walking running and nature trips.

Starting and finishing in the seaside town, this action-packed walk takes in the harbour, sand dunes and thick pine woodlands.
