Published: 15/12/2021In this week's Saturday Shoutout, Sowerbys talk to Blakeney Delicatessen - a deli in the heart of north Norfolk offering local sourced products.
We're surrounded by incredible food during the festive period and it's the perfect time to try or gift the array of Norfolk produce our local delicatessen and stores have to offer.
Not only is it a great way to try something new or treat the foodies in your life, you're also supporting local businesses at one of the most important time in the year.
With that in mind, our friends at Blakeney Deli have got you sorted when it comes to selecting fantastic local food...
What inspired you to open the deli?
Sat in lockdown we thought about how we would love to work for ourselves and own our own business. We saw an opening in the Deli and went for it.
When did you open?
July 5th after 9 days of renovation.
What makes Blakeney Deli unique?
We stock 98% Norfolk produces which enables us to support other small businesses. We also make the majority of our fresh counter products on site at the deli.
Why did you choose to open the Deli in Blakeney?
The Deli has been in Blakeney for over 20 years and was a Butchers previous to that. Blakeney is a major tourist attraction all year round mostly in the summer.
What do you love most about Norfolk?
We love the shoot days, the walks along the coastal past in the winter and all the amazing local produce we have excess too.
