Why everyone deserves an island.
We've spoken to Juliette Hopkins, the Design Director at Fleur Homes to see why an island makes a happy home...
If you’re designing a new kitchen - or refreshing an old one - Juliette’s advice is to include an island if space and budget allows. Wherever possible, Fleur Homes always include a kitchen island with hob – plus space for bar stools – regarding it as a key feature at the heart of the home. With Fleur designing their properties to embrace spacious, open-plan living, the kitchen island naturally becomes a lovely, sociable space for the whole family to come together; after all, it’s not just a place to cook, but also to chat, play, eat, drink and be merry!

So no matter what size your island or the worktop you choose, no matter if it includes a hob or a sink, or neither, one thing is for sure - it’s a bonus in any kitchen and the reason Juliette believes it helps create happy homes.
