How We Spent our Thursdays Together in August

Published: 24/08/2022

That morning coffee to kick start the workday or brunch with friends, when you move to a new home it's important to find those local cafes you’ll return to again and again.

Supporting the high street is important to us and in August we rounded up our favourite cafés as part of our Thursdays Together campaign.

We kicked off August with The Seat Coffee House in Downham Market, a go-to for our West Norfolk team when they are out on the road.

On the quaint streets of Downham Market, it has a cool and casual vibe, with outdoor seating, making it the perfect respite.
Grab a smoothie bowl, smashed avo on toast and even snacks for your four-legged friend. Who doesn’t love watching their dog enjoy a puppachino?

Next, we have No 33, a famous Norwich hot spot. If you have walked down Exchange Street on a weekend, you will be no stranger to the queues No 33 produces.
However, the queues are not a surprise once you experience the delicious food. From a full English to a plentiful pancake stack, and even a range of melt-in-the-mouth cakes, everything you order will leave you wanting more.

Our recommendation would be the chorizo benedict – it’s a great twist on a classic dish!

The third café is the Old Town Beach Café in Old Hunstanton - a favourite for branch manager and northwest Norfolk coast local Lex and managing director Lloyd, a local himself to Old Hunstanton.

Among the sand dunes and situated right on the coastal path, Old Town Beach Café is the perfect location to stop off for some delicious home-made food, whilst still experiencing the beautiful beach Old Hunstanton has to offer.
With plenty of options, for all dietary requirements, this café is a hit for everyone!

In Thetford Forest, the final café is The Shepherds Baa in Lynford, an artisan café with a wide variety of delicious treats.
Being in the heart of the forest and on the edge of Lynford Lakes, it is an ideal place for dog walkers, nature lovers and anyone wanting a scrumptious pit-stop amongst a picturesque setting.

Perfect for an afternoon outing, our recommendation would be the Oreo millionaire shortbread – it is superb.
