Say hello to our new team member.Everyone knows how much we love Norfolk and sharing what our team love about our wonderful county.
We put some of the toughest questions we could come up with to our new team-member Lisa:
So first off, introduce yourself:
Having lived in Norfolk all my life, I can very much say I’m a homebird.
Outside of the work world, family is everything to me. I live with my other half, our dog Dennis (a very energetic cocker spaniel for those of you that are interested) and our 1 year old daughter. Becoming a mum was pretty much my life goal, so I couldn’t really introduce myself without mentioning her!
Before she arrived into our lives I’d spend my free time playing football, running, baking… or binge watching TV series! Now it’s mostly just mum life and making family memories with the lockdown restrictions now lifted.

We know everything in Norfolk is pretty special but tell us your favourite Norfolk past time:
Now that I am a parent, I do see Norfolk in a different light and we have so many nice outdoor spaces that are filled with fun for little ones.
Some of my favourites are:
Roar Dinosaur Adventure – This is a great day out for all the family as there’s a huge park, splash area, woodland walks, minigolf, go-karts, soft play and even more.
Sandringham – This one’s a super affordable option as you only pay for parking, but there’s lots of greenery so that you can sit and have a picnic, walks and they also now have a play area, which I believe is a fairly new addition.
Thetford Forest – This one has always been a firm favourite with my extended family. We’d often meet here with my aunties and cousins for big family gatherings, have a picnic, go on the parks or going for a walk through the forest.

Not that we like to have favourites (how can we ever choose!?) but where are your go-to foodie spots in Norfolk?
Zaks – Curly fries are everything! If you love the typical ‘American Food’ then this place will be for you. They’ve got a few restaurants in the Norwich Area. My go-to order is the Western Burger with Curly Fries!
The Bull – As a Dereham girl, this is a place where I have been to on many occasions. It’s lovely inside, great food and affordable prices
Mervs Bakery in Wymondham – Their Mr. Blobby biscuits are my absolute favourite. When I used to work in Wymondham I would get one of these each Friday as a little treat and also pick up something for my friend who recently passed away, so I have quite a sentimental attachment to this one.

What will you be doing with Sowerbys?
I have joined Sowerbys as a Marketing Assistant whilst our colleague Cindy is on maternity leave. My role is to work on the new instructions for both lettings and sales, creating brochures, editing write-ups and helping to make our client’s properties look their best on paper and online.

And why did you choose to work here?
There are several factors for this one...
Marketing, social media and property are all things I have a natural passion for, I discovered this even more whilst I was on maternity leave.
Sowerbys is a local business, all about Norfolk and my office is also close to home, meaning I can still be home to see my little girl before bed.
I was assured that the marketing team was a lovely bunch of people and that I’d fit well – and I can say that was definitely right. It’s amazing to work somewhere that genuinely makes me happy in both what I do and the people I’m with.
