What's In Guide April 2020

You may already be aware that we produce a monthly 'What's On' guide for Norfolk that highlights just some of the great things going on in the county for that month. With every thing that is going on at the moment, that obviously wouldn't be applicable for this April, so we decided to bring you something a little bit different instead... Welcome to our first (and hopefully last!) 'What's In' guide!

Blue Planet

This is perfect if you’re looking for something easy to watch and relaxing. Sir David Attenborough narrates this renowned series that dives deep into the marine environment of Planet Earth.

This is certainly one for those who love the Royal family! The Crown is a historical drama that follows the life of Queen Elizabeth II from the 1940’s to modern times.

If you’re a fan of Love Island and want something light-hearted and cheesy then this new dating reality show might be perfect. It’s a show where singles try to find a match and fall in love – without ever seeing each other face-to-face.

This Country

If you want something to make you laugh out loud then this could be ideal. This mockumentary explores the life of young people in modern rural Britain, focusing on cousins Kerry and Lee and their life experiences in a typical Cotswold village.

This British science fiction is an anthology series that revolves around a group of people’s personal lives and how technology manipulates their behaviour. What’s even better is that each episode is completely separate so you can pick and choose what you watch and when!

A hard hitting, true crime thriller based in the late 80’s, looking at the exploits of Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar, as well as many other drug kingpins who plagued the country through the years.

Home Workouts

Joe Wicks

We know that Joe Wicks’ daily PE lessons are supposed to be for children, but they work for adults too! Joe is doing live workouts every day at 9am on his YouTube channel but if you can’t make that time, you can still watch them afterwards. If these aren’t your thing, then he also has new HIIT workouts every week as well as lots of other videos, depending on what suits you.

Barry’s Bootcamp

Barry’s Bootcamp are offering a 20-minute, equipment-free version of their boutique fitness classes through Instagram. Twice a day, different instructors are going live via the Barry’s Bootcamp Instagram to help you get a quick workout in.


Similarly to Barry’s, Rumble is offering a shortened version of their celebrity-loved boxing class on their Instagram. The workouts also require no equipment, which is perfect for when you’re at home, and instead combine body weight workouts and shadow boxing for a powerful but quick HIIT workout.


Cassey Ho has the number one female fitness channel on YouTube and offers easy to follow and effective home workout videos. The videos range from pilates to low impact cardio in manageable time chunks of around 10-12 minutes, because everyone has time to squeeze that into their routine. Cassey has also created a quarantine workout plan so there really is no excuse for feeling sluggish at home.

Results With Lucy

Results Wellness Lifestyle are offering free daily workouts on their Instagram page, such as BoxRcise, Family workouts, HIIT, Step and Pilates. They also have a free 7-day trial if you wanted to give their programme a try whilst you may have some extra time on your hands.


If you’re feeling stressed or anxious about these uncertain times, you may want to try something like meditation which is a great way to look after the health of your mind.

Headspace have lots of helpful information for beginners and are offering a two-week free trial of their app which contains a full library with themed courses, a new meditation to try every day, as well as sleep sounds and bedtime exercises.

Sleep Hygiene

Talking of bedtime, you may be finding it more difficult to sleep at the moment, whether this be because you’re feeling worried or that your routine is out of whack.

Sleep Hygiene is a variety of different practices and habits that are necessary to having a good night-time sleep quality and full daytime alertness. The image below shows some great examples of what you can do to help improve your sleep…
