Sowerbys shares some events and things to do with the children during October half term.

It feels like only last week that the children went back to school after their six week summer break and in the blink of an eye, it’s October half term!

If you’re wondering what’s happening across the county to keep the children entertained, then fear not…

We’ve put together some of the spooky events and activities taking place in Norfolk during October half term – you can thank us later!

When: Saturday 23rd – Sunday 31st October

Head down to Holkham Hall this half term as they explore the magic of nature with woodland trails, wildlife safari’s, twilight walks, pumpkin carving, terror in the treetops on their rope course, and more!

Delve into the magic and immerse yourself in the glory of Autumn with a range of fun activities! From enchanting quizzes and trails, to garden games and den building and visiting the magic fairies and elves – that definitely sounds like an Awesome Autumn to us!

Join the team in their education centre for a variety of free hands on activities, such as making your own bird feeder and plant pots, to decorating your own plastic free bag, there’s plenty to keep them occupied!

Join Dippy for one of his Halloween days where there’s endless spooky fun to be had! From storytelling to immersive exploration adventures, Halloween crafts and pumpkins to spooky disco dancing – you can even dress up for the occasion in your best scary costume!

A celebration of all things science! Norwich Science Festival gives young people the chance to explore the wonders of the world, meet scientists, see inspirational exhibits, an array of shows and the chance to get involved with hands-on activities.

There’s so much to discover at Pensthorpe this Autumn and Halloween! Discover the gruesome side of nature on their Wicked Wildlife trail around the park, take part in the variety of activities and even visit the Hootz Haunted House – if you dare!

When: 16th, 17th and 23rd – 31st October
Be sure to head to BeWILDerwood this half term for their most famous event of the year! This glowing woodland display allows you to see the park in a whole new light as you embark on a journey of terrific tales and magic guided by your handmade lantern.

The trampoline park will be hosting a whole week of spooky shenanigans, including ghastly games and competitions, freaky fancy dress, monstrous movies, a haunting Halloween party and of course, lots of bouncing!

A popular event by the Fairyland Trust, The Real Halloween returns this October at Bradmoor Woods, West Acre! Offering a magical family day out, the event includes Fairyland Trust workshops, live music, fancy dress, food and craft stalls and much more!
