Anmer Road, Flitcham, King's Lynn, Norfolk, PE31

3 Bedroom Detached House Sold

Sowerbys are delighted to offer a very rare opportunity to acquire a property in a Flitcham on the Sandringham Royal Estate. Properties on the Estate are scarcely seen for sale and this former Old Methodist Chapel, dating to 1885, is a most exciting prospect.

First hand inspection of this home is essential to see everything it has to offer. The property was converted from a chapel to the dwelling in 1994 and has been in the same ownership ever since. One can enter through the original front chapel doors into a stunning room measuring 6.3m x 3.8m with an open fire. This serves as both the sitting room and dining room. Beyond this is a hall with a downstairs WC, staircase to the first floor and access to a further reception room, currently used as a study but could serve as a fourth bedroom if required. Then there is the wonderful kitchen breakfast room, the hub of the house, with access to the rear garden being possible from here. Upstairs, there are three bedrooms and a bathroom, with the master bedroom cleverly divided into a dressing room with shower room.

Outside, the house is set behind some original wrought iron railings, has off street parking and garden to all sides. The vendors have expressed that the house may be offered with no upward chain if necessary.

FLITCHAM Flitcham is a small west Norfolk village situated 7 miles north east of King's Lynn and straddles the B1153, just to the north of the A148 Fakenham Road at Hillington. The parish is known as Flitcham cum Appleton although the latter now consists of a farm and a few cottages, while Appleton church is just a ruin. Along with the villages of Anmer, West Newton, Wolferton and Shernborne, it forms part of the Royal Sandringham Estate and the original carved village sign was a gift of King George V in 1912. The OFSTED outstanding rated Flitcham School and many of the cottages are built in the very attractive local "carrstone". This distinctive brown stone is seen over a relatively small area of west Norfolk only. The village is a conservation area and has a strong community with a bowls club, and a vibrant community centre housed in the old Bell public house which is also home for various clubs including Good Companions, Keep Fit, and the village darts and dominoes teams. Flitcham has a thriving village school which also runs a Mother and Toddler group.
