Latest advice for those in the process of moving - 26th March 2020

Published: 26/03/2020

Moving home can be a stressful experience at the best of times and it is a huge moment in a lot of people’s lives.

During the uncertain times we find ourselves currently in it is even more stressful.

Without doubt you may find this process is interrupted and made slightly more complicated than usual, despite the efforts of everyone involved.

As we understand it, the latest advice from a local solicitor suggests that following government advice, home buyers should delay moving during this period if possible.

However at the moment solicitors seem to still be facilitating simultaneous exchange and completions if all parties are able to arrange a transfer of funds, obtain removals and confirm the following:

  1. The property is not occupied with cases or suspected cases of Covid-19
  2. The occupants are not self-isolating
  3. All parties can abide to the social distancing requirements

Therefore, if you can comply to the above, you may still be able to go through with your move.

We are here to help and will try and answer any questions you may have, so please just get in touch on the normal branch numbers, which can be found here.
