Published: 14/04/2020Norwich, famously known as The fine City, now has a new accolade. It has recently been found to be the quietest city in the UK!
There are a multitude of things to think about when you’re considering where to live, from how big you would like your new garden to be to your ideal number of bedrooms. Doing research into the area you’re wanting to move to it is equally important because, although it’s great if you find the perfect property, you won’t be too happy if you realise you have moved into a noisy neighbourhood.
Since everyone is spending more home at time at the moment, it may be a time where you notice more sound or perhaps the peace and quiet.
A recent survey looked at the UK’s noisiest and quietest neighbourhoods’ area. It may come as no surprise that London received the most noise complaints over the space of two years (January 2018 – December 2019) with 261,500 complaints with Glasgow and Belfast just behind. It is thought that barking dogs, people and music were the main cause of complaints across the country.
However, the good news is that in the list of the quietest cities and towns, Norwich was named the quietest with just 945 complaints! Norfolk followed close behind in second place with 1,013.
Not that we needed another reason to boast about why we love Norfolk, but this is great news for both those living here and anyone needing a push as to why they should move here.
Norwich is one of the most beautiful, modern, yet historic cities in Britain and is full of hidden gems, iconic buildings, cosy pubs, attractions and must-visit locations.
