The sun is shining upon us, there’s two bank holidays for us to enjoy and plenty of entertainment and activities to keep busy with! Have a look at all the local events happening this May 2019.

Dereham Gin & Rum Festival

After last year’s fantastic success, the Gin and Rum festival is back on, taking place at the Dereham Memorial Hall and hosted by the Dereham & District Round Table Guys! And starting this May bank holiday off in style, this year there will be a collection of rums available too! The festival is running from Friday May 3rd to Sunday May 5th. Salt Marsh Festival

Another bank holiday event inviting everyone to celebrate the glorious north Norfolk coast, hosted by Barsham Brewery. There will be drinks, films and music! Head on down to Wiveton Farm Café, Shop and Fruit Farm on Saturday May 4th from 6pm – 10pm for a fantastic evening. Find out more here.

Day Out with Thomas

A great family event is happening at the North Norfolk Railway from 9am – 5pm this May bank holiday (May 4th – May 6th) where the much loved children’s TV character Thomas the Tank Engine is steaming into Norfolk! Find out more information about buying tickets the daily entertainment here.

Norfolk Heirloom Car Boot Sale

On May 5th from 9.30 am – 2.30pm The Norfolk Committee of ABF The Soldiers’ Charity are again holding an Heirlooms car boot sale at Fakenham Race Course after previous years such great success. Admission for adults is £5, under 16’s go free. Find out more here.


Have you ever wondered about trying mindfulness, but you’re not sure if it’s for you?

Louise Goldsmith- certified Counsellor BSc (Hons) is facilitating a course of Mindfullness taster sessions at the beautiful location of Pensthorpe. Each session is only £5 and all monies raised will be donated to Marie Curie, in aid of ‘Lou’s Coastal Trek around Norfolk’. The dates for these sessions are: April 9th + 23rd, May 7th + 21st, June 4th + 18th and July 16th. Find out more information here.

Crab and Lobster Festival

The World Crabbing Championships are back! On May 18th – 19th this two day celebration is hosted in Cromer and Sheringham and is set to be a fun and lively weekend. Find out more here.

Another animal related activity on the weekend of the 18th – 19th May is the Pensthorpe Bird and Wildlife Fair.Experts are coming together to host a brand new event this May. Lets Rock Norwich!
