Behind the front door of a Norfolk author: Paula Sutton hero

This week marks an exciting moment for fans of beautifully layered interiors, vintage charm - and page-turning mysteries.

Best-selling author and interiors influencer Paula Sutton (known to her devoted followers as @hillhousevintage) has just released her latest novel, The Body in The Kitchen Garden (out now, Renegade Books). And to celebrate, she’s given us an exclusive glimpse into her idyllic Norfolk life.

Paula’s home in West Norfolk is every bit as dreamy as you’d imagine: a Georgian brewmaster’s house set among endless fields and big skies.

It’s a world away from her London upbringing... and that’s exactly the point.

She describes it as a place where you can stay for weeks without needing (or wanting) to leave. From the vintage dishes hanging proudly on the walls to her beloved Victorian button-back chair, each corner tells a story.

Inside the summer edition of at home Magazine:

Paula shares her love of “slow decorating,” her joyful approach to entertaining (think bud vases and layered textiles rather than anything fussy), and the garden “rooms” that inspire her writing.

She also reveals her secrets to creating a home that feels truly lived-in, relaxed and deeply personal; the kind of place where guests are encouraged to keep their shoes on and the dog is very much allowed on the sofa.

It’s no surprise that her novels are woven with the same warmth, character and sense of place.

The Body in The Kitchen Garden, out now, is another deliciously cosy mystery set among lush gardens and village intrigues. Perfect summer reading for fans of gentle crime and gorgeous settings alike.

Curious to learn more about Paula’s life behind the pages and beyond the screen? Don’t miss the full article in this week’s issue – it’s a love letter to English country living, creativity and the simple pleasures of home.

The Body in The Kitchen Garden is out now (£16.99, Renegade Books). The Potting Shed Murder is available in paperback (£9.95). Follow Paula on Instagram @hillhousevintage.
