Having raised over £80,000 for local charities, the time had come to present the cheques and recognise the incredible support that made it possible.
At Sowerbys, we’ve always believed that being a part of a community is about more than just business - it’s about giving back and making a real difference. In celebration of our 30th anniversary, we’re incredibly proud to have raised over £80,000 for five remarkable local charities. This money was raised through a combination of fundraising events, personal challenges, and our commitment to donate £20 for every home we sold in 2024.
The funds raised have gone directly to support some of Norfolk’s most important causes and now, we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to present these funds directly to the charities that have benefited so greatly.
We met with representatives from each of the five charities and the sense of pride and gratitude was palpable. This wasn’t just about a number—it was about what those funds mean for the people and causes they’ll help.
The five charities we supported are:
- Nelson's Journey - Providing essential support for children and young people who have experienced the loss of a loved one.
- St Martins Housing Trust - Helping people experiencing homelessness in Norwich and Norfolk to rebuild their lives.
- The Big C - Supporting individuals and families affected by cancer in a way that’s personal and caring.
- Mind - Norfolk and Waveney - A mental health charity ensuring no one faces mental health struggles alone.
- East Anglian Air Ambulance - A vital, life-saving service covering Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, and Bedfordshire.
It was an emotional experience to see the cheques presented to each of these amazing organisations. For us, it wasn’t just about the funds - it was about the positive impact we could help create. Seeing the faces of those who represent these charities, and knowing how much this money will go on to support their incredible work, is something we’ll always cherish.
It wasn’t just about the cheques being handed over; it was about the conversations, the shared pride, and the reminder of how much we can achieve when we all come together. The charities were grateful, but we are just as grateful for the chance to be part of such a meaningful initiative.
As we look to the future, we’re more committed than ever to continuing to serve and support the region we call home. Here’s to another 30 years of working together to make a difference.
