Finishing strong: Sowerbys end 2025 with Norfolk charity success
At Sowerbys, community has always been at the heart of what we do. As a business with deep roots across Norfolk, we believe in giving back to the people and places that have supported us for over three decades.
Building on last year’s fundraising efforts, our teams have once again come together to support our chosen charities Norfolk and Waveney Mind and Finnbar’s Force. By challenging themselves, supporting one another and getting involved locally, colleagues across the business have helped make a meaningful difference close to home.
Going the Extra Mile
This year saw Sowerbys team members lace up their trainers for a Charity Marathon, walking and cycling in aid of both charities and raising £3,358 along the way. From long-distance walks to steady miles on two wheels, it was a true team effort that reflected both determination and generosity.
We also welcomed back our much-loved Charity Quiz Night, which sold out once again and raised a further £1,565. Bringing colleagues, friends, and supporters together, the evening was a reminder that fundraising is as much about connection and community spirit as it is about the final total.
Alongside these events, we have continued our commitment to donate money for every house sold in 2025, with the final figure to be announced in January.
As the festive season approaches, we would like to thank everyone who has taken part, donated, attended an event or offered their support. None of this would be possible without you.
Making a Real Difference Locally
Every pound raised by the Sowerbys team goes directly towards supporting vital work carried out by our two Norfolk-based charity partners, helping individuals and families when they need it most.
Supporting Better Mental Health
Norfolk and Waveney Mind provide essential mental health support across our region, helping people access the care they need to live well and feel supported.
Amy Woods, Fundraising Support Officer, shares:
“We’re incredibly grateful for the continued support from Sowerbys. This year, the team once again went above and beyond, raising vital funds and awareness for mental health services across Norfolk and Waveney.
“From completing an impressive 22-mile walking challenge to taking part in Do Blue for World Mental Health Day, their commitment to improving mental health and wellbeing across our communities has been inspiring.
“Support from partners like Sowerbys helps ensure that no one has to face poor mental health alone.”
A Lifeline for Families Facing Childhood Cancer
Finnbar’s Force supports families affected by childhood cancer, offering both practical help and emotional support during incredibly challenging times.
Founder Tristan Cork explains:
“Our Family Support Hub, The Den, provides a safe and welcoming space where families can access therapies, support groups and help with the everyday costs of treatment.
“One of our most valued initiatives is our monthly Dads’ Support Group, which gives fathers the chance to connect, share experiences and find support in a relaxed setting.
“The funds raised by Sowerbys could help cover around six months of these sessions, and we’re hugely grateful for the generosity and kindness shown by everyone involved.”
Looking Ahead
As we look towards the year ahead, we remain committed to supporting our community in every way we can, because for us, it’s never just about houses. It’s about people, connections, and the places we’re proud to call home.
