This month the Old Hunstanton Flower Festival celebrates its 50th year - and here at Sowerbys we couldn't be more excited to see our community bloom!
The weekend has been an unmissable event in Norfolk’s summer calendar for decades, with visitors coming from far and wide to see how our incredibly talented and enthusiastic flower arrangers have interpreted the theme of the year.
Subjects as diverse as “The Coronation” and “Fruits of the Earth” have been tackled as well as the unforgettable “Countries of the World” last year.
The Show has blossomed (pun intended) into a Festival that involves the whole village.
The event takes place over three days – Friday 25th July until Sunday 27th July – and this year’s theme is “Golden” reflecting its 50-year anniversary!
It really is a special event – this year more than ever – so make your way to the FREE Car Park opposite St Mary’s Church in Old Hunstanton, where you can enjoy over 30 incredible flower displays.
It is then a free shuttle bus (or a 10-minute walk) to the Village Hall where you will find a wide array of stalls, country games and some incredible home-made refreshments at the Village Hall.
With an amazing raffle with some unique and original prizes contributed by local businesses, authors and artists, a live music concert and Hog Roast on the Saturday night, a fun dog show on the Sunday afternoon, and more fabulous music in the church on the Sunday evening, it is a fun time for all the family, and best of all it is completely FREE to visit!
