Building on the success of 2024, during which over £80,000 was raised for Norfolk causes, Sowerbys has announced its support for two charities in 2025: Norfolk and Waveney Mind and Finnbar’s Force.
As a business with deep roots in the local community, Sowerbys remains committed to giving back to the people and organisations that have supported it for over three decades.
This year’s fundraising efforts will focus on these two vital charities, both of which provide essential services and support to individuals and families in need.
Norfolk and Waveney Mind: Works to reduce the stigma associated with mental health, support people in their recovery and champion better services for all. The charity believes that with the right support and resources everybody can create a life that feels meaningful to them.
Emma Robinson-Hodges, Director of Strategy and Charity Development at Norfolk and Waveney Mind, said: “We are delighted that Sowerbys has chosen to continue their support for Norfolk and Waveney Mind in 2025. Their ongoing commitment is invaluable in helping us to provide essential mental health services and support those who need it most in our community. We are immensely proud to be working in partnership with them.”
Finnbar’s Force: Is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children and families facing childhood cancer in Norfolk. From providing crucial information and emotional support to offering practical assistance, the charity commits to walking alongside those in need, together, fighting childhood cancer and building a brighter future for the community.

In 2016, Tristan Cork and his family established Finnbar’s Force in memory of his son Finnbar who sadly passed away age five with a rare aggressive brain tumour.
Tristan said: "We are absolutely delighted to have been chosen as a charity partner for Sowerbys in 2025.
“It's an incredible honour to be associated with such a respected and community-minded company. Partnerships with local organisations are instrumental in our mission to expand our bespoke support programmes for families and reach more children facing cancer across Norfolk.
“The funds raised will make a real difference, helping us to provide financial grants for families struggling with the extra costs associated with childhood cancer treatment, offer more sessions with our holistic therapists, and expand our practical and emotional support team.
“We are incredibly excited to work alongside the Sowerbys team and be involved in their fantastic fundraising efforts."
Lloyd Sandy, Managing Director of Sowerbys, commented: “Norfolk and Waveney Mind and Finnbar’s Force make an extraordinary difference to the lives of many in the region.
“Sowerbys is proud to support these organisations and help them continue their vital work. The success of last year’s fundraising initiatives provides a strong foundation, and the team is eager to build on this momentum to further engage with clients, colleagues, and the wider community.”
Max Sowerby, Managing Director, added: “Supporting the local community is a core value at Sowerbys, and this commitment remains unwavering in 2025.
“Both Norfolk and Waveney Mind and Finnbar’s Force reflect the values of care, resilience, and hope, which resonate deeply with the company and the communities it serves.
“The upcoming year presents an opportunity to make a meaningful impact through a variety of fundraising events and initiatives.”
Sowerbys’ 2025 fundraising activities will include community events, staff-led challenges, and the continuation of a donation for every home sold. From endurance challenges to engaging local events, the team is ready to work together to raise awareness and funds for these inspiring charities.
