Sowerbys Directors' London to Paris challenge in support of PAPYRUS
Sowerbys' Managing Director, Lloyd Sandy, and Land & New Homes Director, Peter Hurrell, are taking on the London to Paris cycle challenge this July in support of PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide.
The challenge is being undertaken in honour of a friend and client, and his family, following the loss of their daughter earlier this year.
Together, they hope to raise vital funds to help PAPYRUS continue providing support to young people and families, while raising awareness of the importance of mental health and suicide prevention.
Why PAPYRUS?
PAPYRUS is the national charity dedicated to the prevention of suicide and the promotion of positive mental health and emotional wellbeing in young people.
At the heart of its work is HOPELINE247, a confidential support service available 24 hours a day, every day of the year, providing practical advice and immediate support to young people experiencing thoughts of suicide, as well as to anyone concerned about a young person.
Beyond its helpline, PAPYRUS works across communities, schools, workplaces and government to raise awareness, educate people to recognise the warning signs of suicide, influence policy and ultimately help save young lives.
Their mission is simple but incredibly powerful: to prevent young suicide.
Peter said: "The London to Paris cycle is a significant physical challenge, covering hundreds of miles over several days. But for us, the motivation extends far beyond the finish line."
Lloyd added: "This ride is our way of standing alongside a family who have experienced an unimaginable loss, while supporting a charity that provides hope, guidance and support to so many young people and their loved ones.
